Apollo's Fire: Igniting America's Clean Energy Economy
America's energy and environmental problems will not be solved simply through a light bulb push at Wal-mart or Live Earth concerts, argue Jay Inslee and Bracken Hendricks in their new book Apollo's Fire. In this earnest, yet hopeful, call for change, Inslee and Hendricks argue that a clean energy revolution is not simply needed to address our growing environmental problems and achieve energy independence, rather it holds the potential to create a new era of economic expansion, good jobs, and strong communities. In the book's foreward, President Bill Clinton says Inslee and Hendricks' vision is "true to America's competitive spirit, but it is capitalism with a conscience." Inslee is primary congressional sponsor of the New Apollo Energy Act and on the Apollo Alliance advisory board; coauthor Hendricks is a member of the alliance's steering committee.
