Earlier we reported on the widespread food unrest that's spreading across the world from the US biofuel boom -- striking mainly poorer nations. (Corn Ethanol Boom, Hunger Worldwide)
But the Midwest is facing its own breed of biofuels backlash and food insecurity. The high cost of corn and other staple grains has lead to a rash of thefts from grain elevators in Western Kansas.
